Walk with Walsh at Shandaken Inn

On this episode I sit with Shandaken Inn Keeper, Rafael Santiago. Truth be told, this wasn’t my first visit this year and it certainly won’t be my last.

The iconic allure of the Catskills are wrapped up in this beautiful historic and recently revamped and reopened spot, the Shandaken Inn. This cozy home away from home pays homage to the camps that are so well known in New York State. Rafael takes such pride in getting to know each and every guest and in the time of Covid, makes sure everyone feels comfortable.

The incredible breakfast is included in your stay but the Clubhouse is open for outside guests, as is the bar. There are of course, new parameters in line with social distancing and occupancy in line with New York State laws and regulations to keep everyone healthy and safe. Chef Tim created incredible dishes with such passion, it’s hard not to taste the love that goes into each and every dish. On a side note, he makes some of the most delicious fresh jams I have every tasted! All meals are in rhythm with the season of the region and you never have to worry about foods / ingredients coming from far away.

The property beckons you to explore and the Inn itself allows you the space to take a deep breath, sit back by the fire and relax.
