Walk with Walsh at Serenbe with
Mary Alice Stephenson
On our first episode of the new season, I am honored to have the lovely Mary Alice Stephenson as our courageous guest. Mary Alice has spent most of her life in fashion and has been able to segue into a life of giving through fashion and beauty. She is a FORCE and a lovely force for that matter. She has worked at some of the biggest publishing houses in the world. Her work includes Fashion Director, editor, and stylist for Vogue, Allure, Marie Claire, Esquire, O The Oprah Magazine and Harper’s Bazaar and she has worked with numerous celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker, Halle Berry, Beyoncé, Renée Zellweger, Drew Barrymore, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, and Scarlett Johansson.
MA ( as most of her friends call her ) and I met years ago. We began to see and hear about one another after Super Storm Sandy that hit the NYC area in 2012. Both of us were separately rallying people to send supplies and then delivering those supplies to people in need in the Rockaways (just outside of the city). I was deeply inspired by her huge heart and her unquenchable enthusiasm to help as much as she could.
I was again moved as I watched her form her non-profit, GLAM4GOOD. Once more, this statuesque beauty with a heart as big as her personality had found a beautiful way to channel her passion for helping others. GLAM4GOOD is a way for MA to tap into her former colleagues in the fashion and beauty space to help those most in need. She now travels around the country continuing to serve others.
GLAM4GOOD creates programs, events, and other initiatives that harness the healing power, joy, and attention that fashion and beauty bring to raise awareness, promote well-being, honor courage and empower self-esteem. They offer life-changing makeovers, clothing giveaways and confidence bolstering fashion and beauty initiatives for everyday heroes and people in need.
I am so thrilled to have kicked off this new season with Mary Alice. Our conversation is honest, real, and raw. She truly showed up and poured herself into our talk and yes, we both cried.
I hope you enjoy this very candid conversation and please be a part of our community. Comment, share, help us get the word out.
Until next time, continue to live and love with nature in mind.
